Eye Tracking - Frequently asked Questions (FAQ's)

What is special about the method?
Comparable to a radiograph, eye tracking allows the analysis of the actual looking behaviour and thus enlarges the possibilities to analyse visual stimuli. Ideally, the attention test is combined with an interview.

What is different about the eye tracking method at management tools?
By means of its own software, management tools is able to consolidate the eye movement and to compute it on charts or spreadsheets. This allows specific evaluations according to gender, age, profession etc., whereas nearly all other available methods are based on single case analyses, whose evaluation involves a lot of time and costs.

Are the print advertisements presented isolated for the test or are they presented in a real magazine?
Both ways are possible. However, an IT supported evaluation is only feasible if the sample is tested separately and isolated from its surroundings.

Is it possible to personally attend the eye tracking tests?
Yes, it is. Management tools has its own Studio in Zurich , which allows a direct observation of the measurements by means of video transmission.

In which countries can the eye tracking researches be conducted?
At present, we carry out eye tracking researches mainly in Switzerland and in Germany . Basically, it can be carried out in any country with a comparable power grid.

How are the respondents recruited?
All commonly used recruiting methods are applied. The eyes of about 1-2% of the test persons cannot be calibrated, which means that they cannot take part in the test.

How long does it take to complete an eye tracking study?
The eye tracking takes about 1 ½ minutes per person. Including adjusting, it takes about 4 minutes.

How long does it take to evaluate the tests and deliver the results?
It takes 5 working days – in urgent cases, a 48 hour express service is possible.

Is there a possibility of comparison with other methods?
According to our knowledge, there are no other providers of comparable methods in the German speaking countries.

What are the costs of an eye tracking research for 50 test persons per subject?
From no more than CHF 3,800 (about € 2,300) plus VAT (7.6%), your subject is analysed in our eye tracking omnibus, which takes place every 3 rd week of the month. From 4 subjects, it is worth doing an exclusive study adapted to your individual wishes.
